Varenyam, a casual dining restaurant located in Bangalore entrusted us with the branding of their newly annexed pub named ‘Chameleon’. We identified the scope of the name ‘Chameleon’ and made the decision of going with a mascot logo for the Identity. A mascot is a character that personifies your brand.The aim of a mascot is to communicate your company’s values and talk with your customers on your behalf. A well designed character will make your brand stand out from the competition. Like the name of the pub suggests, a chameleon is chosen as the character.

chame’LEO’n : A scrabble with the letters in the name resulted in choosing the character name as LEO. The personality and identity of ‘LEO’ is built upon the core brand values of the pub. This pub is meant to be a casual hangout place. Be it to chill out with your friends, share jokes and laughter with your dear and near ones, or to just have a quick getaway from your mundane surroundings, ‘LEO’ the bartender is at your service.

We introduced ‘LEO’ the self proclaimed omnipresent dude, with limitless energy as ‘citizen of the world’, who always has many tales to tell from different eras, and is the life of all parties at the pub.

Leo is as dramatic as he is comedic. He claims to have been there as a crew member in the legendary ship ‘TITANIC’, a soldier in WORLD WAR II, an attendee of round table conference and said to have witnessed many more historic events, spread across many centuries. The legend is that he is a time traveller. His stories seems a little exaggerated at times yet engaging and convincing. Leo is a character who changes his personality depending on who he is with and one may get to hear different versions of the same event from him at different occasions. Nobody is actually concerned about the credibility of his witty stories, as he is the perfect company for the lonely, joy for the gloomy and amusement for the bored.
